siggi’s begins in 2005 when Siggi Hilmarsson felt homesick for a staple of his childhood diet, skyr, a thick, creamy, high-protein yoghurt from his native Iceland. The yoghurts he found on shelves in the US were much too sweet and artificial for his liking.
Our Story
a brand is born
Using a recipe Siggi's mother sent, he began making skyr in his small New York City kitchen. It tasted like home.
Our Story
gaining momentum
Within just a few months, Siggi quit his day job, bought a whole lot of dairy equipment, and siggi’s dairy was born.
Our Story
being true to icelandic tradition
True to Icelandic tradition, siggi’s products do not contain any preservatives, sweeteners or colours. We are proud to use fresh milk from Australian farms.
